Job Summary:
The Village of Fairfax, OH is recruiting for a Regular Full-Time Fiscal Officer to lead the Village's Finance Department. Under the general supervision of the Mayor and Village Council, the Fiscal Officer manages, coordinates and directs the Village’s finances. The Fiscal officer plans, directs, & manages all fiscal responsibilities of the Village. The essential functions and responsibilities of the Fiscal Officer include:

· Oversees the daily fiscal operations of fund accounting, accounts payable & receivables, purchasing, budgeting & audit compliance.

· Preparation of annual financial statements and notes. Oversees audit process.

· Establishes policy & procedures for purchasing, accounts payable, revenue receipts, auditing, etc.

· Supervises Tax Department functions for both the Village of Fairfax and JEDZ.

· Coordinates the Village annual budget preparation and submission to the county.

· Monitors Village revenue & cash balances to ensure sufficient revenue flow for Village operations including transfers, reconciliation, & reporting.

· Monthly reconciliation of all village cash accounts.

· Attends monthly Village Council meetings and other various committee meetings, as scheduled. Prepares agenda, takes minutes and posts adopted ordinances and resolutions.

· Prepares bi-weekly payroll and files corresponding payroll taxes on bi-weekly and monthly basis.

Education and Experience:

· Strong Computer Skills/Microsoft/email Etc.

· Clerical and administrative duties

· UAN (State of Ohio Financial Software) experience

· Employee payroll experience (UAN Payroll Module)

· Record keeping / Public Records / Records Retention

· Government Accounting / Fund Accounting

· Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, or other related discipline, plus one (l) year governmental accounting/fiscal experience is preferred.

A combination of training, education and work experience which indicates possession of the skills, knowledge and abilities listed above will be considered.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

Pay range is $68,000 - $73,000 annually, contingent upon applicant’s related skills, knowledge and abilities. Benefits include paid holiday, vacation, personal and sick leave. Participation in OPERS.
